My Birthday

Nick is such a sweetheart! He planned the best Birthday weekend. I love the Utah Jazz, and I've always wanted to go to an NBA game. Nick got tickets to the Denver Nuggets/Utah Jazz game for Feb. 4th. It was in Denver, which is a lot closer than Salt Lake City for us. We dropped the kids off @ school on Friday and drove to Denver. We had a babysitter come to greet the kids when they got home from school, and stay Friday night and Saturday with them. We stayed at the Monaco, a fancy hotel downtown. It was a great location, within walking distance of the Pepsi Center and many restaurants. It was a late game and didn't start until 8:30 p.m., so we had plenty of time to rest, read and relax. We walked to a nice Mexican restaurant and enjoyed a nice meal before walking to the Pepsi Center for the game. I was sporting my #8 Daron Williams Jersey-he is so good, and did not disappoint us. It was a very exciting game, and the Jazz won. It was awesome being there on the 11th row-seeing the players in real life they are huge!! We were completely surrounded by Nuggets fans, but it didn't stop me from cheering and getting into the game. Nick said I might have annoyed a few people. At half-time, they were having couples kiss on the Jumbo-tron, and Nick was really surprised when they showed us on the giant screen. We showed the audience our best kiss. What a great, exciting experience it was!

Time to ditch the training wheels

Daddy thinks it's time to take the training wheels off of the girls bikes.  Mommy, Sophia, and Savannah think it's a little too soon.  The girls are both very nervous about riding with no training wheels, but as if that's not enough, Daddy removed the pedals too.  We better make sure they wear their helmets, because I think there's going to be some falls.  Nick is such a great Daddy, he's so good with the kids, and they love spending time with him.

Sophia's Black Eye

Nick had the day of, so we decided to spend it in Colorado. We had great plans of shopping and going to lunch. We dropped the kids off at school, and we made the short 50 minute drive. We had just started shopping when the school called me to let me know that Sophia had slipped in the hallway and was hurt. They were icing her eye, but it was swelling rapidly. We cut our day short and went to the school to pick her up. She was acting tough until we got there, and she started bawling. We had her continue to ice it for several more hours at home. The next day she woke up with one big shiner! It took 3 weeks for the bruising to go away and to heal. Good thing she's a cute girl and could pull off a black eye. We told her it looked like she was wearing purple eye shadow.

Happy New Year! 2011

We had a casual get together at our house on New Year's Eve.  We played board games, played Just Dance(I should say the girls danced and the boys played on the computer) and Guitar Hero on the Wii, and of course, ate.  The kids had to have a clock cookie again this year, it was delicious!  Happy New Year!

Christmas in Cheyenne

We celebrated our 3rd Christmas on December 26th. We got home late on Christmas day, so we waited until the next day to open presents. The kids are going to be disappointed when they don't get to open gifts every day. Christmas has to end sometime! Isaac's favorite gift was a mouse pad with a picture of his dog Jecca on it. It was nice to relax and enjoy the day together, before Nick had to go back to work.

Christmas in Hurricane

Christmas day always starts with Mom's baked eggs-so good! After breakfast, we had a hay day opening gifts. Grandma and Grandpa gave the kids a Nintendo DS, which they were thrilled about. Mom and Dad were also very generous to us, giving us a shopping spree to Costco. Nick and I used ours well and purchased an exercise bike and an ipod touch. Thanks Mom and Dad!! After a fun morning, we were on the road home to Cheyenne. We left about 11:00 a.m. We stopped in Midway for lunch and kept driving, until 10:30p.m. It was a long day, but we got to spend time with my family and Nick's family. It was a Merry Christmas.

Christmas Pajamas

It's been a tradition in our family for as long as I remember to get pajamas on Christmas Eve. Grandma Reeve was so kind to get pajamas for all 16 of the grandkids. The kids gave us a fashion show- don't they look adorable?

Feliz Navidad

When we come to Hurricane, I love to get together with the whole family. I think it's fun to plan themed parties, so this year we decided to have a Feliz Navidad party. We made fun crafts, ate enchiladas and fried ice cream, and the kids even got a pinata. Grandma was pretty nervous when they started swinging a golf club next to the big screen T.V. It makes me happy to see the kids having so much fun. There are lots of pictures because Nick gave me a new camera for Christmas (I got to open it a few days early) and I was having fun trying it out. Feliz Navidad!
