Back to School

Sophia and Savannah started their 2nd year of preschool. They love Teacher Ann, and have been looking forward to returning to ABC preschool. They are growing up fast, and getting smarter every day. They are at such a cute age, they keep me laughing with their comments and observations.

Isaac's Birthday

I'm a few weeks behind on my posting, but Isaac turned 9! He requested a Geocaching Birthday Party, which is his new hobby. Nick takes him often and he's found some real treasures. We limited the guest list to only 2 of his friends and their families. He picked his buddies Adam and Matthew, a couple of great boys! Nick was in charge of the party, he hid 3 boxes full of party favors and gifts at the park, and the kids got to use the GPS to find the way points. We let Isaac decide the menu, which was Mr. Jim's cheese Pizza. It was a simple party, but Isaac was so happy.

Shella and Zachary happily ever after

The kids and I drove to Hurricane for a week long trip visiting family, and preparing for Shella's big wedding day. (We had to excuse Nick due to a previously planned fishing trip with his brother to Alaska. He owes me!) The kids enjoyed spending time with their cousins and playing at Grandma and Grandpa's fun house. It was great to see a lot of extended family while we were there. Shella's wedding was pretty, and she of course, looked stunning! The backyard was transformed into a fairyland of lights, fresh flowers and decoration. The food was delicious, the band was entertaining, the company was delightful, it was a wonderful night. It took a lot of people's hard work, but it was pulled off without a kink. The only minor mishap was right after I got Isaac dressed in his nice, new black pants and white shirt, he decided to go for a dip in the open swimming pool to cool off. By the end of the night, he was tired of wearing his shirt and took it off. It really could have been worse. The girls looked so darling in their matching dresses that Aunt Angie and Grandma sewed for them. We tried to capture the beauty, but the girls were in no mood to smile and be photogenic. They're still cute, just not happy! We all love Zach, and I know he'll take good care of my baby sister. I love my family dearly, and love every minute I get to spend with them. Congratulations Zach and Shella!

Cousin Week in Midway

My kids got to experience Cousin Week for the first time. It's been a tradition for Grandma and Grandpa Larsen to host all of the grand kids for a week. Well things have changed, and cousin week was condensed to cousin weekend. It's also a first to have parents stay and join in. Since our kids are still young, B'Andra and I stayed to help out and be a part of the party. We had a lot of fun together, and it was great that the cousins had some time to get reacquainted, since they don't see each other often enough. Trace was visiting from Alaska, and we hadn't seen him in years. We ate at Isaac's favorite restaurant, Dairy Keen. Isaac looks forward to getting an orange sherbet ice cream cone each time we visit. We also Painted T-shirts, designed sun visors, created cute mini photo albums, made and decorated sugar cookies, fed the goats, got faces painted, and sampled Gelato at the Zermatt, Rode on the pony cart(Savannah's personal favorite activity), learned a primary song, and played a candy bar version of the cakewalk. Aunt B'Andra was a trooper and put in a lot of work to make it all happen. It was such a fun time for the kids, and I know they'll treasure the memories.
